Samsung DVD-HD860

Can't afford a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player or just the thought of replacing your DVD collection with replacement copies of all your favourite films fill you with dread? You might want to look at a DVD player with hi-def conversion. This is where the DVD-HD860 comes into play. This machine will take your standard DVD resolution movies and upscale them to 720p/1080i hi-def glory. Note however that this requires, firstly a HD compatible TV and also for the connection to the TV to be via HDMI.

As well as playing the usual range of DVDs it will also work with divx meaning it will play video you download from the internet.

An excellent investment. Image quality is much better than I expected. Watching animation is like HD quality. I connected this to my new 50" Panasonic PDP (with HDMI). This is a really good DVD player at a very affordable price.
